What's in a name?

Hello. My name is Lynette. But don't ask me how to pronounce it...

I have only been asked a handful of times in my life how I pronounce my name. Is it Li-net or Luh-net? Well kind sir, I don't actually know.

That's right, I'm 23.5 and don't know the correct pronunciation of my name. Until last week. I declared war on the pronunciation of my name and I won handily. The war wasn't all that bad, I'll be honest. More like the bloodless revolution in Brazil (sorry guys, I've been making a review game for my AP World History classes, it's getting to me).

Last weekend I was home (for wonderful reasons which I could fill 6 whole posts about, but they would get sappy and annoying). And on Sunday I was sitting in my living room and I thought, hey, what if you ask your Mom how to pronounce your name. Dur.

So I asked her. It's Li-net. FYI.

So for those of you who have been calling me Luh-net...
